The Ladybug Garden

Mission

The Ladybug Garden strives to provide families of the Kea'au/Pahoa area with reliable quality child care in a safe, nurturing environment and support the child’s development and help the child acquire skills needed for school.

Philosophy

Children progress through different stages of development.  They learn best through play and exploration of an interesting, language-rich environment and developmentally appropriate learning materials.  Children benefit from a warm relationship with an attentive, nurturing provider who models appropriate behaviors and skills.

Goals

The child care provider ensures the children in care are kept safe with responsive, nurturing care and direct, active supervision. The provider supports the child's cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional aspects of development by offering developmentally appropriate activities in arts and crafts, reading, language arts, math, sensory, science, play, music, and drama activities. Children have opportunities daily to learn and practice valuable skills about friendships, manners, and safety while in the child care setting.

Program

Learning at The Ladybug Garden is done through exploration, play, and interaction.  Program activities are derived from a variety of resources, developmentally appropriate, and based on early learning standards.
